Traffic Violations
For many people a traffic citation is the only experience they have with the criminal justice system. Most people often resolve their citation by paying the fine or attending some sort of traffic school. The problem is that doing so may put points on your license and could increase the cost of your automobile insurance. Hiring an attorney may not be necessary for all traffic violations, but it may minimize your fine or potential effect on insurance rates. For some people, hiring an attorney for simple traffic violations may be worth it in the long run.
In Utah, it is always a good idea for professional drivers and people who carry a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) to hire a lawyer to handle their traffic citations. For these people a simple citation may cost them their license and future employment prospects. When your livelihood is at stake then you need an attorney at your side.
